Voter Registration Information
Why Register?
Voting is one of our most basic rights as Americans. It allows us to
participate in government and have a say in how our country is run. Let your
voice be heard this Election Day by registering to vote. If you are already
registered, consider donating your time or money to a candidate or
organization that you support. Your voice is only as strong as your vote!
Who Can Register?
To register in New Jersey you must be:
1. a U.S. citizen
2. at least 18 years old on or before the next election
3. residing at your present address for at least 30 days
You are not eligible to register to vote if you are serving a sentence or on
parole or probation, as a result of a conviction of an indictable offense
under state or federal law or have been adjudged mentally incompetent.
Absentee Ballots
If you are unable to make it to the polls on Election Day, you can apply for
an absentee ballot.
Absentee ballots must be mailed to your county clerk at least 7 days before
the election or delivered to the clerk in person by 3 p.m. the day before
